Rick’s Rant – Nestlé Water

Take the Boycott Nestlé Pledge

This summer, many parts of southern Ontario faced drought conditions. Yet Nestlé, a giant bottled water corporation, continues to pump more than four million litres of groundwater every day from an aquifer near Guelph. Nestlé pays just $3.71 per one million litres (less than $15 per day) for this water and then ships it out of the community in hundreds of millions of single-use plastic bottles for sale all over North America – at an astronomically marked up price.

Between 2011 and 2015 the aquifer that supplies the main Nestlé production well dropped about 1.5 metres, while Nestlé’s water taking increased 33 per cent over the same period.

And Nestlé just bought another well in Middlebrook, Ontario – despite the local municipality’s attempt to purchase it to safeguard their municipal water supply. Nestlé has been making profit by pumping groundwater all over the world. Communities are standing up and saying “no” to Nestlé’s water grabs and profit making off of a shared community resource.

Nestlé’s operations in British Columbia have also stirred up opposition from communities trying to protect their water. Despite the 2015 drought, Nestlé continues to extract 265 million litres from a well in Hope, located in Sto:lo Territory. The well connects to an aquifer that approximately 6,000 nearby residents in Hope rely on.

Groundwater resources are finite. Droughts, climate change and over-extraction continue to impact our limited water sources. At this pace, we will not have enough for our future needs. Wasting our limited groundwater on frivolous and consumptive uses such as bottled water is madness. We must not allow groundwater reserves to be depleted for corporate profit.

Germany Forming EU Super Army – Preparing For World War 3 With Russia

Published on Oct 11, 2016

Josh Sigurdson breaks down recent news that Angela Merkel is desperately rushing to create an EU super army with Germany leading. With sights set on Russia, Germany is pushing a globalist army to fight terrorism and they claim one of the major points in the creation of an EU army is to lower tensions with Russia, despite using over the top, dangerous aggression against the country.
After Brexit, the EU has been hesitant to rush to create the EU army, though it has been in the playbook. Germany’s impatience is much to the dismay of many in the EU and NATO, but still contains the same end game promoted by the two globalist super powers.

Reminiscent of the push by Nazi Germany to create a global government and global army, Germany is once again trekking in dangerous territory.
Even former German Chancellor, Gerhard Schröder is warning that Germany is making a serious mistake, noting the aggression by Germany heading up NATO operations along Russia’s border on the 71st anniversary of Nazi Germany’s attack on the Soviets, a day that carries a lot of significance within Russia to this day as people gather to remember the lives lost.
According to the German defense ministry, the point of all of this is to help in the creation of a “world order”.
One doesn’t have to look far to see the crumbling ties between the west and Russia as the U.S. cuts conversational ties, MPs in Britain call for shooting down Russian planes in Syria and Russia readies their nuclear arsenal.
It is important to remember that Russia has been calling for peace as Britain, Germany, Canada and the U.S. throw dangerous threats in Russia’s direction, a country that stands side by side with China. As Hillary Clinton and Merkel alike threaten world war 3 with Russia all while Vladimir Putin attempts to warn the mainstream press while being sanctioned to death. The EU, their un-elected counterparts at the EC and NATO are rushing us to our demise at a time where we’re more divided and weakened than ever. This is all part of the script and if we don’t stand up now, we may just be marching off to our death very soon.
We don’t like to fear monger, but sometimes the truth is scary.

Stay tuned for more from WAM!

Carbon Tax will be the Greatest Tax Increase in History with Richard Heathen – Discussing UN Agenda 21 and the carbon tax and how much it will hurt Canadian families.

“A National Carbon Price” Is The Nail In The Coffin For Canadians

Canada’s Liberal government has sworn to implement a carbon tax if provinces refuse to do so. It’s one election campaign promise Trudeau is actually keeping. But it’s not just a simple carbon tax, Environment Minister Catherine McKenna said that BC and Alberta will have to raise their price on carbon to be part of the Canada-wide strategy to deindustrialize the nation.

Open Letter to Mayor and Council re. Trio’s due date, Oct. 1

Re. the deadline date, Oct.1, 2016 , for Trio Marine’s Proposed Development at Skaha, Mayor Jakubeit is now saying, “..staff still requires some time to clarify, research and write a report for Council to consider on how we proceed”.
I take this as another example of your lack of respect and regard for the thoughts and wishes of thousands of us residents and visitors to this community,
who have Petitioned against the leasing of Skaha Park for commercial development.
who have been sadly shocked and disappointed in you
who have been kept “on hold” in this very “hot”  important matter.
Or is it an admission of incompetence?  Surely not the latter, as you, your Staff, Trio and all the Lawyers have had plenty of time to consider the options and to prepare for this due date.
Oct. 1, 2016 was the (additional year extension) due date given to answer, does Trio met the expectations, or do they not?
See you at Council Meeting.

FDA Tests Confirm Oatmeal, Baby Foods Contain Residues of Monsanto Weed Killer

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Food and Drug Administration, which is quietly starting to test U.S. foods for residues of a weed killing chemical linked to cancer, has found the residues in a variety of oat products, including plain and flavored oat cereals for babies, according to information obtained by consumer watchdog group U.S. Right to Know.

Testing done by an FDA chemist showed residues of the pesticide known as glyphosate in several types of infant oat cereal, including banana strawberry- and banana-flavored varieties. Glyphosate was also detected in “cinnamon spice” instant oatmeal; “maple brown sugar” instant oatmeal and “peach and cream” instant oatmeal products, as well as others. In the sample results shared, the levels ranged from nothing detected in several different organic oat products to 1.67 parts per million, according to the presentation.

Glyphosate, which is the key ingredient in Monsanto Co.’s Roundup herbicide, is the most widely used weed killer in the world, and concerns about glyphosate residues in food spiked after the World Health Organization in 2015 said a team of international cancer experts determined glyphosate is a probable human carcinogen. Other scientists have raised concerns about how heavy use of glyphosate is impacting human health and the environment.

The oat results follow the revelation that the FDA also has found glyphosate in samples of U.S. honey, including some samples that showed residue levels double the legally allowed limit in the European Union, according to documents obtained by U.S. Right to Know through a Freedom of Information Act request.

Honey and oats are not considered part of the special assignment that the FDA is conducting on glyphosate residues in food, according to the agency. The four commodities that are part of that program – corn, soy, eggs and milk – have not shown any residue levels that exceed legal tolerance, though analysis is ongoing, according to the FDA.

The residue tests come as both European and U.S. regulators are evaluating glyphosate impacts for risks to humans and the environment. The EPA is holding four days of meetings in mid-October with an advisory panel to discuss cancer research pertaining to glyphosate, and debate is ongoing over whether or not the team of international scientists who last year declared it a probable human carcinogen were right nor not.

An article on the oat findings written by Carey Gillam, research director of U.S. Right to Know, can be found here: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/carey-gillam/fda-tests-confirm-oatmeal_b_12252824.html

U.S. Right to Know is a new nonprofit organization, working to expose what the food industry doesn’t want us to know.  We do research and communications on the failures of the corporate food system. We stand up for the right to know what is in our food, and how it affects our health.

George Soros is playing a vital role in the de-stabilisation and depopulation plan

Soros’s age is mentioned on video to be 64 – because it contains a compilation of old and new clips. His date of birth is August 12, 1930, making him 86 as of August 2016.
Response to those disputing that George Soros is a Zionist.
George Soros is Pro NWO = Zionist Agenda. Please study and learn about the “Protocols of the learned elders of Zion”.
George Soros is Pro Eugenics = Zionist Agenda. Again, “Protocols of the learned elders of Zion”.
George Soros has a strong track record of de-regulation and privatisation. Again, “Protocols of the learned elders of Zion”.
Soros believes in and supports social engineering through both indoctrination and enforcement. That is a typical belief routed in the heart zionism.
George Soros is an associate of the Rothschilds. The Rothschilds own 80% of Israel (based on borders defined by UN in 1967).
He changed his real birth name from Gyorgy Schwartz to George Soros to hide his Zionist identity.

Health Canada blocked quit-smoking aid after Pfizer complaint

Health Canada set out to drive a Canadian-made stop-smoking aid from the market after a complaint from Pfizer Canada Inc., a pharmaceutical company that makes competing products, a judge has found.

In its first few months on the market, a lozenge called Resolve, billed as a natural way to stop or reduce smoking, sold more than 250,000 cartons across Canada, according to its manufacturer, The Winning Combination Inc. (TWC) of Winnipeg. Then Pfizer wrote Health Canada a letter saying the product posed health risks. (That same year – 2007 – Pfizer sought and obtained Health Canada approval for a quit-smoking prescription medication, Champix.)

What followed, according to a scathing ruling from Federal Court Justice James Russell, was a process in which a lone bureaucrat, Robin Marles, set up roadblocks to Resolve while other Health Canada officials stood by or supported his efforts. At every stage, as the company tried to make its case for a licence to sell Resolve, Dr. Marles, the director of Health Canada’s clinical trials bureau, denied it any fairness, Justice Russell said. (Under Health Canada rules at the time, a company could sell a natural health product while its application for a licence was under consideration.)

Checks and balances “were abandoned and those with the authority and responsibility to make the decision simply followed Dr. Marles’ directions, whose directing mind appears to have lost all sense of objectivity and procedural fairness as he attempted to shore up his own misperceived conclusions,” Justice Russell wrote in his 68-page ruling this month.

The result: Resolve was wrongly banned from the market for eight years, he said. Rather than send the matter back to Health Canada to rethink whether Resolve meets its standards – the normal course for this situation, he said – he ordered Health Canada to approve a natural-health-product licence within 30 days.

“To simply return the matter for reconsideration to a system that has shown itself to be so dysfunctional might simply plunge TWC back into the quagmire and trigger more litigation,” he said. The judge did not criticize Pfizer.

Shazad Bukhari, chief executive officer of The Winning Combination, said the company did not receive fair treatment from Health Canada. “The sense of fair play you would expect and you hope the government would provide isn’t always the case,” he said in an interview.

Dr. Marles would not comment when reached by phone.

A spokeswoman for Health Canada said the department is appealing the court’s decision. “The department remains committed to a fair and impartial review of all health product licence applications,” she said.

Pfizer said it had been beyond reproach. “Pfizer Canada always conducts itself appropriately,” a spokesman said by e-mail after receiving a copy of the ruling from The Globe and Mail. “There is absolutely no conclusion or statement in the court decision to indicate otherwise.”

Justice Russell said that after Pfizer complained to Health Canada in mid-2007, the government claimed Resolve contained a substance drawn from passionflower, and would be harmful. The company showed independent lab tests confirming the product contained no passionflower, and Health Canada ultimately accepted that it was not harmful.

Next, the judge said, Health Canada said Resolve was not a natural health product, defined as one whose key ingredient occurs in nature, or is a synthetic version of a natural product. Instead, it said, Resolve was a drug, and would need a more thorough process to prove its effectiveness.

“Dr. Marles has conceded that he had no evidence that the active ingredient in Resolve was not a [natural health product]. All he had was his own opinion,” Justice Russsell wrote. “And yet Dr. Marles actively sought to have the Active Ingredient delisted … without giving any notice to TWC that classification was a problem.”

Then came a “reconsideration,” at the company’s request, in which Health Canada retained an expert – Dr. Marles’s former postdoctoral supervisor. The reconsideration came to the same conclusion – that the key ingredient was not natural. But the ruling said the expert had done a faulty search of a database, and missed convincing evidence that it was natural.

Finally, accepting that Resolve was a natural product and not a drug, Health Canada said it would need conclusive evidence it was effective – a standard that it had not applied to any other natural health products, or even to drugs, Justice Russell found.

Even in its handling of the court case, Health Canada allowed Dr. Marles to serve as its front man, the source of all evidence about how it handled Resolve.

“He is an advocate for himself. Health Canada remains firmly in the hands of Dr. Marles and is apparently unwilling to provide the court with reliable factual evidence from others in the system who were involved,” Justice Russell wrote in the ruling. Health Canada never should have fought to uphold Dr. Marles’s conduct in court, the judge said.

So reprehensible was the government’s conduct, he said, that Health Canada must pay The Winning Combination’s legal costs, which Mr. Bukhari estimates at $1-million. The company laid off 15 employees, at a time when it had just 35, and its suppliers laid off more, Mr. Bukhari said, adding that the company now has 100 employees, and plans to launch Resolve in Europe, Australia, South Africa and elsewhere.

Pfizer’s quit-smoking prescription medication, Champix, was described in a Canadian Medical Association Journal article in 2011 as being linked to an increased risk of cardiovascular problems. Health Canada has published warnings, but has allowed it to be sold.
